Conservatives?
Would someone please?
Give me an explanation
Why the “Conservatives”
Are all so opposed to conservation
Doesn’t their name
Seem somehow to apply
To try conserving
Or at least, give it a try
Conserving our natural resources
That are now, in short supply
But when we say, there’s a problem
All they do, is strongly deny
They are said to be on the “Right”
This loud and vocal throng
But from where I stand
They usually seem, to be in the “Wrong”
So it’s only likely
Neither of us will ever change
But if they won’t conserve
Then pick a different name
